This is the second installment of a recap series spotlighting the many great leaders and founders who have volunteered their time to speak with the 2021 Target Forward Founders Cohort.
Our Target Forward Founder participants entered the second week of the program thinking all about the consumer. Special thank you to all the guests from Mintel, Shine, Target Enterprise Insights team, and Miguel Garza from Siete Foods.
The cohort kicked off the week with Mintel a presentation sharing their 2021 Key Trend Drivers. In addition, they brought category experts to answer participant questions about their categories. Mintel has been a strong partner with Target Accelerators and the knowledge they imparted on participants in invaluable.
The cohort was joined by Miguel Garza, Founder and CEO of Siete Foods where he shared his own journey starting his brand and growing the company to being on shelves around the country. Today, he leads Siete as one of the top three fastest growing natural brands in grocery. With products in over 16,500 grocery stores nationwide, Siete Family Foods is represented among the mere 3 percent of Latinx-owned businesses that drive over $1mm in annual revenue. In 2017, Miguel was included in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.
Finally, Forward Founders is proud work with Shine to provide year-long subscriptions to Shine products. Shine is the most inclusive and representative mental health product on the market and has built a robust annual program to suit the workplace wellness space. Founded by two women of color, Shine is making mental health more inclusive and every piece of content in Shine rooted in Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
